National institutions
69% of funds channeled through implemented or planned iniatives concern programmes which are managed by national institutions, such as Ministries or Universities.

Civil society organisations

Italian NGOs, associations, religious congregations and other civil society actors are geographically widespread throghout the country. In many cases, their presence originates in the independence aftermath. Committed since decades to support right enforcement and life improvements for its population, Italian CSOs can count on their durable and precious experience in Mozambique in several sectors.

Conscious of such valuable actors, the Italian Development Cooperation in Mozambique encourages synergies and collaboration with Italian CSOs, both supporting their initiatives and promoting their role within programmes by International Organisations and the European Union.

The following map shows the project co-funded by the Italian Development Cooperation in the country, within the bando OSC.

Here you may access to the website of all Italian CSOs active in Mozambique.

International Organisations

Collaboration between the Italian Development Cooperation and International Organisations focuses today in two key areas: gender equality and health. In addition to the three projects which are listed below, the Maputo Office of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation cooperates with all International Organisations which work in Mozambique, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Malawi and across all areas of its intervention.

Furthermore, the Italian Development Cooperation contributed to the post emergency intervention implemented by UNICEF, after Dineo Cyclone, which hit the country in February 2017:

Private sector
Involving both Italian and international firms, as well as profit private sector, is one of the most innovative features of the new development framework. A call for proposals to involve private sector in development activities will be published soon on the Agency website.
